Statement of Faculty Senate Action:
(Add Econ 102 Option)
Effective Date: Fall 1999
Delete: on pg. 152 in the section entitled, "Declaration of Major", the following:I. The student must have completed each of the following courses with a grade of C or better: ACCT 201, ECON 101*, MGMT 220 and STAT 185*.
Replace: the deleted material with the following:
I. The student must have completed each of the following courses with a grade of C or better: ACCT 201; ECON 101* or ECON 102; MGMT 220 and STAT 185 *.
Impact: In some cases this will allow students to declare their major earlier, and will reduce the number of provisional declarations. It does not change major requirements, as ECON 102 is already required for the major.
Rationale: Many students take ECON 102 before ECON 101 or transfer in the equivalent of ECON 102 without transfer credit for ECON 101. This change will allow students to alter the order in which they take the required ECON sequence in Management.
