THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA AT ASHEVILLE FACULTY SENATE Senate Document Number 0790F Date of Senate Approval 10/11/90 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Statement of Faculty Senate Action: FWDC Doc F901: University Relations Faculty Advisory Committee The University Relations Faculty Advisory Committee is hereby established as a standing faculty committee whose purpose and composition are outlined below. I. The PURPOSE of the Committee shall be as follows: A. To serve in an advisory capacity to the Vice Chancellor for University Relations and the University Relations staff on external affairs, including but not limited to the UNCA Foundation, Development, Public Information, Publications, Graphics, Alumni Programming, Leadership Programs, and Owen Conference Center. B. To act as a liaison between University Relations, the faculty and students. C. To advise the Vice Chancellor for University Relations and assist in presenting an annual report to the University community. D. To obtain, on a regular basis, information from faculty, students, staff and the community at large on public relations and other matters which should be addressed by the Office. II. The COMPOSITION of the Committee shall be as follows: A. Five members of the Committee shall be faculty with one representative from each of (1) the Humanities, (2) the Social Sciences, (3) the Natural Sciences, (4) the UNCA Foundation (e.g. one of the two Senate-elected faculty representatives to the Foundation), and one at-large member. III. The TERM of service shall be for two years. Initially three members shall serve for a two-year term and two members shall serve for a one-year term as determined by lot. IV. The University Relations Faculty Advisory Committee will be effective as of October 11, 1990.
