                             PROPOSAL FOR A MINOR IN ART







           Description:



           A minor concentration in art can be taken in 2 dimensional

           studio, 3 dimensional studio or art history.



           A two-dimensional minor in art shall consist of:



               Art 100 or Art 101                  3 hrs.

               Art 102                             3 hrs.

               Art History (300 level)             6 hrs.

               2-Dimensional Studio Courses       12 hrs. 



           A three-dimensional minor in art shall consist of:



              Art 100                              3 hrs.

              Art 140                              3 hrs.

              Art History (300 level)              6 hrs.

              3-Dimensional Studio Courses        12 hrs.



           An Art History Minor shall consist of:



              Art 100                              3 hrs.

              Art 101, Art 102, or Art 104         3 hrs.

              Art History courses (300 level)     12 hrs.

              Art History Research/Paper           3 hrs.

              Aesthetic: - Phil. 310               3 hrs.



           Studio minor will be required to exhibit in a "Minors

           Exhibition" which will be scheduled yearly.  Art History Minors

           will be required to pass the Art History Section of the Senior

           Comprehensive Exam.
