of Faculty Senate Action:
FWDC 7: Proposal
to Establish the Sustainability Committee as a Standing Committee
(Faculty
Handbook Section 10.4.6).
Effective: Immediately
Add the following:
Title: Sustainability Committee
Purpose
Facilitate
increased energy and environmental resource conservation in our campus
community through collaboration of the faculty, staff and students on issues of
day-to-day campus operations, strategic planning, renovation, and new
construction.
Membership
·
Two faculty and two alternates appointed by the Faculty
Senate, each serving a two year staggered term
·
Landscape Architect
·
Two Office of Design and Construction staff members
appointed by the AVC of Campus Operations
·
One Student Government Association representative
·
One student demonstrating interest in energy and
environmental concerns appointed by the Student Government Association.
Recommendations
and reports to: Associate Vice Chancellor of
Campus Operations
Rationale: This change provides greater emphasis by UNCA on the
areas of energy and environmental resource conservation on its campus.
