Statement
of Faculty Senate Action:
APC Document
53: Change the prerequisite requirement for MMAS 121
Effective Date: Fall 2007
1. Delete: On page 198, in the description for MMAS 121, Introduction to Web Page
and Interactive Design
Prerequisite:
MMAS 107.
Add:
On page 198, in place of deleted entry:
Prerequisite: MMAS 101. Pre- or
corequisite: MMAS 107.
Impact:
There will be no impact on the resources and staffing
of the MMAS department due to this change. No new lab equipment or space will
be required.
Rationale:
Students in MMAS 121 should have a basic
understanding of software and digital design before pursuing interactivity.
Hence, MMAS 101, Digital Design Principle is the appropriate prerequisite.
Changing MMAS 107 to a pre- or corequisite allows
flexibility in student schedules. The information taught in MMAS 107 is not
required before study of interactivity and web design in MMAS 121.
