FWDC 5: Proposal
to Change Membership on Teaching Fellows Advisory Council
(Revision of
SD8303S; Faculty Handbook 10.4.30)
Effective Date: Immediately
In
the Faculty Handbook, Section 10.4.30 (SD8303S)
Under
Membership, after “Chair of the Education Department or his/her designee”
REMOVE:
“One faculty member, serving a one-year term, appointed by
the VCAA”
AND
“One faculty member from
and selected by the Honors Program Committee, serving a one-year term”
ADD:
“Two faculty members,
serving two-year staggered terms, appointed by the Provost”
Rationale:
An
increasing number of Teaching Fellows do not participate in the Honors
Program. In addition, having faculty members
serving two-year staggered terms will provide for continuity.
The
Director of the Honors Program will continue to be invited to the Council’s
meetings.
