Statement of Faculty Senate Action:

 

 

FWDC 3:           Proposal to Establish Asheville Institute Advisory Committee (AIAC)

 

Effective Date:   Immediately

Rationale:

The Asheville Institute Advisory Committee (AIAC) is a new committee which is designed to promote and assess the development of Institutes consistent with UNCA’s liberal arts mission.

 

Structure:

  • 6 Faculty Members chosen by the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs. Members shall serve 3-year terms.
  • Administrative Officer, Special Academic Programs (Ex Officio)
  • Director, Special Academic Programs (non-voting)

Duties:

To advise and recommend to the Director of Special Academic Programs the establishment of Institutes which are compatible with university resources such as faculty, administrative capabilities, facilities, and financial resources.

 

Recommendations to:   Director of Special Academic Programs
