Statement of Faculty Senate Action:

APC Document 2: Requiring Different Courses to Fulfill Lab Science

and ILSN Requirements.

Effective Date: Fall 2005

1. Add: On pg. 42, under ILS Topical Cluster (9 semester hours), first paragraph, after 3rd sentence, "Of these three...defined below":

While Laboratory Natural Science courses may appear in an ILS Topical Cluster, a student may not use the same class to fulfill both the Laboratory Natural Science and the ILS Topical Cluster requirement.

2. Add: On pg. 44, under Laboratory Natural Science (4 semester hours), at the end:

While Laboratory Natural Science courses may appear in an ILS Topical Cluster, a student may not use the same class to fulfill both the Laboratory Natural Science and the ILS Topical Cluster requirement.

Impact:

None.

Rationale:

This provision was the intent of the General Education Review Task Force, but language to this effect was not included in the implementation document.
