Statement of Faculty Senate Action:

APC Document 31:         Change in prerequisites for MGMT 489 and MGMT 499

Effective Date: Fall 2004

1. Delete: On page 161, the prerequisite for MGMT 489:

Pre- or corequisite: MGMT 480.

Impact: This change has no impact on the department's majors or minors, the university's requirements, other departments, or future departmental course offerings.

Rationale: The course content of MGMT 480 is no longer considered necessary to successfully complete all internship projects. By approving each intern's application, the director of the internship program assures that the student intern has completed the necessary courses for his/her specific internship.

2. Delete: On pg 161, the prerequisite for MGMT 499:

Prerequisite: MGMT 352.

Add: On page 161, in place of the deleted entry:

Prerequisite: Permission of the supervising departmental faculty member. MGMT 352 is highly recommended.

Impact: This change has no impact on the department's majors or minors, the university's requirements, other departments, or future departmental course offerings.

Rationale:  Course content for MGMT 352 may not be relevant to the successful completion of all research projects.
