Statement of Faculty Senate Action:

EC 1:    Presentations of Vice Chancellors at Faculty Senate Meetings 
             (Revision of SD3290S)

As one of three requests, Senate Document 3290S states:

"[t]hat the Vice Chancellor for University Relations present to the Faculty Senate an update of the activities and plans of the Office at the first or second meeting of the Faculty Senate in the Fall semester."

Because this provides a means for communication between administrators and the faculty, the Executive Committee proposes that this request be extended to all Vice Chancellors, starting this year (the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs already meets monthly with the Faculty Senate)

The Vice Chancellors for Finance, University Relations and Student Affairs will be invited to meet with the Faculty Senate during the Fall semester. Each Vice Chancellor will schedule this meeting through the Faculty Senate Chair. No more than three weeks prior to the meeting, the Vice Chancellor will submit, to the Faculty Senate Chair, a brief (1-2 page) written report highlighting current plans and activities of the Office. This report will be distributed to senators. The purpose of the Vice Chancellor's meeting with the Senators will then be to discuss the report and respond to questions.
