APC Document 9:   Change in course credit hours and description of MGMT 499

Effective Date: Fall 2002

Delete: (On page 160, the number of hours (1-3) for MGMT 499 and the course description)

499 Undergraduate Research in Management (1-3)
Independent research under the supervision of a faculty mentor. Prerequisites: MGMT 352. An IP grade may be awarded at the discretion of the instructor. May be repeated for a total of 3 hours credit. Fall and Spring.

Add: (on page 160, the following number of hours (1-6) and the following description of MGMT 499)

499 Undergraduate Research in Management (1-6)
Independent research under the supervision of a department faculty mentor. Prerequisites: MGMT 352. An IP grade may be awarded at the discretion of the instructor. May be repeated for a total of 6 hours credit. Fall and Spring.

Impact Statement:
These changes have no impact on the department's majors or minors. The university's requirements, other departments, or future department course offerings.

Rationale:
The above change will allow students who are working on involved, two semester research projects to get appropriate credit.
