Achieve at least a C (2.0)
average on work attempted at UNC Asheville. This 2.0 minimum applies to courses
in the major department and the minor department, as well as in the overall

                        10. Minors, though optional, are only awarded at the
completion of degree requirements.
Required hours for a minor vary according to
departments. One-half of the hours
required for a minor must be completed at UNC Asheville.
All minors require that a
minimum of 6 semester hours of 300-400 level courses be completed at UNC
Asheville.

place of deleted entry:
10.  Minors, which are optional, are only awarded at the completion of degree
requirements. Required hours for minors vary according to departments. All
minors require a minimum C (2.0) average on all work attempted at UNC
Asheville. One-half of the hours required for a minor must be completed at UNC
Asheville. All minors require
that a minimum of 6 semester hours of 300-400 level courses be completed at
UNC Asheville.
3.  Add:                 On page 43, under Optional Minor Fields of Concentration,
in the 6th line, before,
“One half of the hours…”
All minors require a minimum C (2.0) average on all work attempted at UNC
Asheville.
Impact:
Students will now be required to achieve the same minimum GPA (2.0) to
complete a minor as they are to complete a major.
Rationale:
Though uncommon,
a few students have been able to graduate with a minor without having achieved
a minimum 2.0 GPA in the courses used to fulfill the minor requirements. This
proposal equalizes the GPA requirement for majors and minors.
