APC Document 44: Add
new course, SOC 380, to curriculum
Effective Date: Fall 2010
1. Add: On page 260, new course SOC
380, Feminist Theory:
380 Feminist Theory (3)
An
investigation of selected feminist theorists on a variety of topics that are
current in the literature. With permission of department chair, course may be
repeated as content
varies for a total of 6 hours credit. Even years Fall.
Impact Statement:
This course has been offered 3 times as a special topics, serving as an elective for Sociology
majors and a requirement (interchangeable with WMST (WGSS) and PHIL 365) for the
WMST (WGSS) major and minor. The only change, therefore, is listing this course
as a permanent offering. As such, no
impact is anticipated unless there is unforeseen substantial growth in demand
in Sociology or WMST (WGSS).
Rationale:
This proposal is simply following university policy
that requires a special topics course that has been offered three times be
assigned a permanent course number and listing in the catalog.
