Add: On pg. 73, in place of
deleted entry:
This seminar will
incorporate advanced readings, class discussion, and student research in the
exploration of current ideas about a specialized topic in art history. Prerequisite: 6 hours of upper level art
history or related courses on the topic. May be repeated as content varies for
a total of 12 hours credit. Offered
every year.
Impact:
ARTH 460 is offered
regularly to fulfill the new 400 level requirement for the concentration in Art
History. Students currently are
allowed to take only 3 credits in ARTH 460.
Rationale:
Offered at least once a
year, ARTH 460 includes a variety of courses designed to address the needs of
the Art History student. Students
concentrating in Art History should be allowed to take ARTH460 more than once as
the subject matter changes. Since each
course offers a focus on a specific important topic in Art History (from Museum
Studies to a Research Practicum in Art History), Art History students who have
taken more than one will graduate from UNCA with an exceptional perspective on
the developments in Art History and the current issues in the field. Total credit allowance of 12 hours reflects
the frequency of offering for this varied course.
