Statement
of Faculty Senate Action:
APC Document 18: Add
option for IP grading in ART 400
Effective Date: Fall 2010
1. Add: On
page 70, in the course description for ART 400, before the prerequisite:
An IP grade
may be assigned at the discretion of the instructor.
Impact Statement:
There will be
no impact in terms of space, equipment, resources or staffing of the Department
of Art due to this IP grading request.
Rationale:
If the
instructor determines that a student has not achieved competency in the B. A.
Seminar (ART 400) capstone course, the IP grading option will allow a student
to complete the project without additional hours required for graduation. A
student receiving an IP grade will be given specific guidelines regarding the
successful completion of the solo exhibition, research paper and oral
presentation required for competency.
