Statement of Faculty Senate Action:

APC Document 8: Allow CLAS 340 to be repeated for credit

Effective Date: Fall, 2010

1. Add: On page 98, to the description for CLAS 340, before the phrase “See department chair.”

May be repeated as subject matter changes for a total of 6 hours credit.

Impact:

No impact on faculty workload. The change will increase options for students and will decrease the need for individual special topics courses.

Rationale:

The course alternates between the Iliad and the Odyssey. The provision allows students to study both epics without having to enroll in an individual special topics course.
