Impact
Statement:
These courses are currently being taught as special
topics courses. They will be taught irregularly on an as-needed basis so these
changes are not expected to change the program or department’s current or
future staffing needs.
Rationale:
The Dance courses listed above support UNC
Asheville’s Strategic Plan: “Diversity & Inclusion: Assert and demonstrate
our individual and collective responsibility to invite, honor, and learn from
our differences, as preparation for an increasingly interconnected world.”
These courses provides an increasingly popular opportunity for students to
learn about different cultures, experience different dances from around the
world, and practice dance as an activity to obtain exercise time and achieve
personal fitness.
