Rationale:
Students will be better prepared at graduation if
they complete a Senior Research Project.
This project may be used as a writing sample for graduate school or
employment application. Additionally,
students are required to present their research at the UNCA Symposia, NCUR, the
Big South Undergraduate Research Symposium or other national conferences on
undergraduate research. Students will be
encouraged to submit their papers for publication in a professional journal in
order that they can be become eligible for Undergraduate Research Scholar
status. The requirements for the Art
History concentration should be adjusted so that students are required to take
the 3 hour capstone course, ARTH 485 (currently taught as ARTH Special Topics).
