 FWDC 3:           Proposal to Eliminate the Asheville Institute Advisory Committee
                                (SD1205S; Faculty Handbook 10.4.25)

 Effective Date: Immediately

 Rationale:        

This committee does not function and has proven to be unnecessary.

Delete 1:           In the Faculty Handbook, under Section 10.4.1.4:

                                     Alphabetical listing of the Asheville Institute Advisory Committee

 Delete 2:           In the Faculty Handbook, the entire Section 10.4.25:

                                     10.4.25 Asheville Institute Advisory Committee (AIAC) (SD1205S)

Structure:

        6 Faculty Members chosen by the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs. Members shall serve 3-year terms.

        Administrative Officer, Special Academic Programs (Ex Officio)

        Director, Special Academic Programs (non-voting)   

Duties:

To advise and recommend to the Director of Special Academic Programs the establishment of Institutes which are compatible with university resources such as faculty, administrative capabilities, facilities, and financial resources.
