FWDC 9: Proposal to revise the Duties of the
University Research Council
(Revision of
SD3006S; Faculty Handbook Section 10.3.5)

1. In Faculty Handbook Section
10.3.5, under Purpose:
Delete:
4. To recognize faculty who have been productive
with research and scholarly activities and honor them with a monetary
award.
2. Replace
with:
4. To appoint two members who
will sit on the Faculty Scholarship and Service Awards Committee that
determines the recipient of the Distinguished Scholarship Award.
Rationale
The Faculty
Scholarship and Service Awards Committee is the new body that will award the
Distinguished Scholarship Award, the Distinguished Service Award and the
Feldman Professorship Award.
