Minutes, May 7, 1998 - 5:15 pm

Presiding: T. Dohse (1997-98 Chair)

I. Call to Order
Dr. Dohse welcomed new senators and guests to the first meeting of the 1998-1999 Faculty Senate and called the meeting to order at 5:15 pm.

II. Election of Alternate
Dr. Peter Caulfield was elected to replace Dr. Pamela Nickless on the Senate for the three-year term 1998-2001. Due to a prior commitment, Dr. Nickless was unable to serve during the spring semester.

III. Executive Committee Election Results
Executive Committee elections were held with the following results:

Chair of the Senate and Chair of the Executive Committee: Gregg Kormanik

Dr. Dohse turned the meeting over to Dr. Kormanik and elections continued.

First Vice Chair and Chair of the Academic Policies Committee: Bill Sabo

Second Vice Chair and Chair of the Institutional Development Committee and University Planning Council: Peter Caulfield

Secretary and Chair of the Faculty Welfare and Development Committee: Marcia Ghidina

IV. Comments from the Chair
Dr. Kormanik asked senators to submit their committee preferences. The Executive Committee will convene at the close of the meeting to determine the makeup of the various committees.

V. Adjournment
Dr. Kormanik adjourned the meeting at 5:35 pm.
