                 FWDC 3: Enrollment Services Committee

     10.4.7 Enrollment Services Committee
     
     Under Purpose: 
     Delete: ALL
     
     Add:  The committee makes recommendations and hears appeals
     for the Admissions and Registrar's offices.  The committee:
     
       hears student appeals relative to admission decisions,
       hears student appeals regarding academic actions, i.e.
                 suspension and dismissal,
       hears scholarship appeals,
       reviews fraudulent credentials and makes
                 recommendations,
       makes recommendations to APC regarding university
                 academic regulations, and
       reviews and makes recommendations for policies and
                 procedures in Admissions, Advising, and the Registrar's
                 offices. 
     
     Under Membership:
     Delete:     Five faculty, Asst. VC for Enrollment Management
                 (advisory only without votes) Director of Admissions,
                 Registrar, Director of Financial Aid.
     
     Add:        Five faculty; ex officio without votes: Asst. VC for
                 Enrollment Management, Director of Admissions,
                 Registrar; Director of Financial Aid.
     
     Rationale:  The primary purpose of this change is to have policy
     match practice.  The Enrollment Services Committee has not
     reviewed scholarship awards for at least four years.  Since the
     committee would review any scholarship appeal, it is not
     appropriate for the committee to also review awards.  The
     committee presently has six faculty members. The Director of
     Financial Aid does not need to attend except in the case of
     scholarship appeals.
