The former was deleted in the fall of 1993 and the latter has been approved by APC for deletion in 1997. Page 86, under CHEM 132 DELETE: Prerequisite: MATH 105 or higher. ADD: Corequisite: MATH 163 or higher. Page 95, under CSCI 141 DELETE: Prerequisite: MATH 104 or placement. The department of Mathematics recommends the following change, a more lenient policy toward granting advanced placement credit for Calculus. Effective date: Fall, 1997 Page 34, Mathematics DELETE: Calculus AB 4,5 4 MATH 191 ADD: Calculus AB 3,4,5 4 MATH 191 Rationale This change will put UNCA in line with other Universities in this state. Presently all of the other 15 campuses of the UNC system grant advanced placement credit for Calculus I (UNCA's MATH 191) if the student received a 3 on the Calculus AB exam. Impact There will be a slight decrease in enrollment in MATH 191. Coordination: Not applicable.
