Rationale: The National Weather Service and the American Meteorological Society have made statements on what should be included in a Baccalaureate degree program in atmospheric sciences. The above changes the Meteorological Instruments course from an elective to a requirement to fulfill the suggested curriculum. Both statements of suggested requirements are outlined in the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, 76, April 1995, pp 552-553.
