Laughon, P. McDonald, M. L. Manns, B. Miller, P. Snoyer, K. Whatley, A. White-Carter, B. Yearout, T. Cochran Visitors:None I. Call to Order Dr. Browning welcomed new senators and called the meeting to order at 4:55 pm. II.Executive Committee Election Results Executive committee elections were held with the following results: Chair of the Senate and Chair of the Executive Committee: Shirley Browning First Vice Chair and Chair of the Academic Policies Committee: Bob Yearout Second Vice Chair and Chair of the Institutional Development Committee: Kathy Whatley Secretary and Chair of the Faculty Welfare and Development Committee: Mary Lynn Manns Senators turned in their committee preferences for next year. III.Comments from the Chair A major responsibility of the 1994-1995 Senate will be to help establish a positive and effective relationship between the faculty and Chancellor Reed. Chancellor Reed worked very closely with the Senate at Northern Arizona University and Dr. Browning anticipates a similar relationship with the UNCA Senate. Dr. Browning stressed that the Faculty Senate is not an insular group and encouraged senators to discuss issues with their colleagues.
