Department of Health and Fitness has been teaching this course as a part of the Women's Studies Program as a special topics course (WMST 273). Effective Date: Fall semester 1994 for adoption; Fall 1994 for 94-95 Catalog. Proposal: That the previously offered "Special Topics" course Women's Health (WMST 273, three hours) be assigned a Health and Fitness course number of HF 154 and be added to the Health and Fitness course offerings in the UNCA 94-95 Catalog. ADD: On page 125. "154, Women's Health (3). The study of how women can understand, gain control over, and take responsibility for their bodies and their health. Course offered every semester." On page 201 under Women's Studies Electives. "HF 154 Womens's Health" Impact Statement: Will not require any additional faculty, staff or resources. Rational: Cheryl McClary has taught Women's Health twice as a "Special Topics" course through the Women's Studies program. Both times the course has been over- enrolled and had a waiting list. Women's Health should be made a permanent offering with an official catalog assignment in the Health and Fitness Department. Women's Studies Pam Nickless (separate cover) 16 Feb 94
