University of North Carolina at Asheville FACULTY SENATE MEETING Minutes, May 7, 1992 - 4:15 pm Meeting Senate Members: A. Coyne, F. Davenport, L. Dorr, C. Goedsche, A. Hantz, G. Henderson, D. Call to Order The 1992-93 Faculty Senate met on Thursday, May 7, 1992, in Karpen Hall - 005. Alan Hantz, Chair, called the meeting to order at 4:15 pm. II. Executive Committee Election Results The following Senate members were elected officers for the 1992-93 year: Chair of the Senate and Chair of the Executive Committee: Don Lisnerski Dr. Hantz turned the meeting over to Dr. Lisnerski at this time. First Vice Chair and Chair of the Academic Policies Committee: Forest Davenport Second Vice Chair and Chair of the Institutional Development Committee: Jeff Rackham Secretary and Chair of the Faculty Welfare and Development Committee: Debra Van Engelen III. Administrative Report Dr. Larry Wilson gave the Administrative Report. Enrollment Enrollment figures have not changed since the last report. SACS Review Dr. Wilson reported that UNCA's sister universities received similar SACS recommendations. The Senate Executive Committee will begin working on recommendations this summer. Teaching Fellows UNCA was the first choice of seventeen Teaching Fellows and the second choice of eight. The University had hoped to enroll 15-20 Teaching Fellows and have only 13 at this time. Memorandun One Dr. Wilson reported that he has been unable to find Memorandum One as requested some time ago. Dr. Wilson has requested a copy from Bill Miller, his counterpart at GA. IV. Old Business Dr. Lisnerski asked Senators to turn in their Senate committee preferences for next year before leaving the meeting. The Executive Committee met briefly at the close of the meeting. V.
