Departmental demonstration of competency is met by selecting one of the three options listed below." ADD: On page 128, second sentence, paragraph 1 c.; "The department chair will approve a student's selection of one of the three options listed below to meet departmental competency. Demonstration of competency is met by obtaining a grade of "C" or better for each requirement listed in the selected option." DELETE: On page 130, first sentence paragraph IV., General Requirements; "Other departmental requirements~Successful completion of MGMT 492 satisfies the demonstration of competency requirement for the degree." ADD: On page 130, first sentence paragraph IV., General Requirements; "Other departmental requirements~Successful completion of MGMT 492 with a "C" or better satisfies the demonstration of competency requirement for the degree." IMPACT: One to two students per year would fail to be declared proficient and would be required to repeat the proficiency requirement. RATIONALE: Current management catalog listings for competency are not clear as to what constitutes successful demonstration of competency. Requiring a minimum course grade of "C" would eliminate current ambiguities and would align the management department's competency requirement with several other departments.
