DELETE:   on page 174, the description for SOC 240

REPLACE with the following

          An investigation of the historical treatment and
          contemporary status of African-Americans and women, and
          the gay and lesbian subcultures in American Society and
          the respective social movements which emerged in their
          attempts to attain social equality.  Problems concerning
          majority-minority relations are analyzed within the
          context of cultural diversity and social change.  This
          course may be used to satisfy three hours of the general
          education requirement for social science.

IMPACT:   none anticipated.

RATIONALE There have been frequent questions as to exactly what
          material the course covers.  This new description
          clarifies and specifies what is done.
