RATIONALE: These changes would a) provide for greater clarity relative to certification requirements; b) correct a catalog error with respect to EDUC 332 which was replaced in Fall 1989 by EDUC 320; c) remove the unnecessary requirement of EDUC 330 for science and mathematics students; d) reflect the requirement of SOC 240 for science students, a requirement which not only satisfied the NCATE and SDPI demands for a multicultural emphasis but has been in effect from the time of first inclusion of SOC 240 into the UNCA curriculum. Thus, no change in effect upon the Sociology Department is expected.
