Statement of Faculty Senate Action:   

       IDC #2:  Resolution to Change UNCA's Classification

The University Planning Council recommends the following
resolution to the Senate:

     The Senate recommends to the Chancellor and Vice Chancellors
     that the administration seek to have UNCA's classification
     by General Administration changed from Comprehensive
     University II to Liberal Arts University I.  

Rationale:

UNCA would be the only institution within the UNC system with
this designation, establishing clearly our primary mission and
giving us a unique, state-wide distinction.
