Environmental Impact Statement: This course adds no new University requirements. While it is true that Modern Dance is periodically offered through the Physical Education Department, all Arts Course labs are similar to offerings in one of the Fine Arts departments. These courses which are Page 2 designed to accompany Arts and Ideas stress exploration rather than "skills development." Rationale: This addition will have the effect of broadening student choices in the fulfillment of the lab component of the Fine Arts requirement. It will enable the Arts course faculty greater flexibility in planning options for students and in responding to the availability of faculty.
