                               Minutes, April 28, 1988

           The April 28th meeting of the Faculty Senate was called to order

           at 3:35 pm in the Whitman Room of Ramsey Library by Chair Pamela

           Nickless.  Dr. Nickless presented the March 31 Senate minutes

           for approval.  A typographical correction was made on page two.

           The minutes were approved as corrected.  The minutes of the

           April 14 meeting were presented and approved.  



           Elections for the 1988-89 Executive Committee positions were

           held, and Charles Prokop became the Chair of the Faculty Senate.

           At this time Dr. Nickless turned the meeting over to Dr. Prokop,

           whereupon she received a round of applause for her service as

           Chair.  The elections continued as follows:  first Vice Chair

           and Academic Policy Committee Chair is Lisa Friedenberg;  second

           Vice Chair and Institutional Development Committee Chair is

           Shirley Browning;  Secretary and Chair of the Faculty Welfare

           and Development Committee is Pamela Nickless.  Preferences for

           committee assignments were collected from the senators.  



           Dr. Prokop adjourned the meeting at 4:25 PM.
