SEE SENATE DOCUMENT #2, 1982-1983 FOR REGULATIONS ON COUNTING OF VOTES. THESE CHANGES SHALL TAKE EFFECT SPRING 1989. ---------------------------------------------------- RATIONALE 1. This change seeks to provide a ballot that more accurately reflects the faculty who will be available to serve when the Senate and Committees meet in the Fall after the elections. Although it is cumbersome to explain the procedure, it is easy to make ballots using this procedure. The VCAA' s office already provides the Secretary of the Senate with the information necessary. The listing of Faculty by rank includes the dates of leaves, faculty exchanges and other changes such as retirement or resignations. 2. and 3 and 4. We currentIy follow these procedures. This document makes the procedures a formal part of the Senate records. Page 2
