Page 2 Rationale: These two classes have been offered through the Management Department as Special Topics Courses taught by David Johnston, Director of Career Services. However, they are applicable to all majors and especially useful to students majoring in one of the humanities or social sciences where clear career tracks do not exist after graduation. Student-athletes are presently being encouraged to take them as part of the ACE Program, and the Teaching Fellows program will be encouraging participating students to take them in the future as well. While the Management Department will be glad to continue as the home for these courses, both the Department and the Career Center believe a broader identity would be more appropriate in a liberal arts university. ____ NOTE: The APC has examined the syllabi and grading practices for these courses and found them satisfactory as A through F graduation credit-bearing courses.
