           1986-87 Catalog to:



           "Students who are registered for credit may change status to

           audit up until the announced deadline for late registration,

           and instructors may recommend and approve a change to audit

           until the last day to withdraw from a course."







           Rationale:



           There are many diverse reasons for such a change.  The

           registrar has received a large number of such requests

           from faculty this year.  To be consistent with written

           policy, the registrar needs a statement from the faculty

           that it will allow exceptions to the deadline.
