                      FACULTY WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE



           Document #5



           Purpose:  The four Full Professors selected to the Distinguished

                     Scholars Committee by the Faculty Senate will serve

                     also as the four elected faculty members required on

                     the Honorary Degrees Advisory Committee.



             (as described in the Faculty Handbook and Senate

              Document #19, dated 29 Jan., 1985, and which never

              received the Chancellor's approval signature- N.B.

              this is not the Distinguished Visiting Scholars

              Committee, whose duties it has taken over.)





                     - 4 Full Professors selected by the Senate from the

                       faculty at large, who will also serve as the

                       selected faculty on the Honorary Degrees Advisory

                       Committee (after which):  



                     - 3 members shall be appointed by the Chancellor,

                       drawn from the full-time teaching faculty, one

                       from each division.
