Add new catalog description of Music (Musc) page 149, as follows: The music program offers two degree options: Bachelor of Arts in Music with Liberal Arts and Bachelor of Science in Music with Recording Arts. Because of the large degree of performance specialization inherent in this discipline, the department relies heavily upon an adjunct faculty of professional musicians. The following performance groups are a vital part of the music program: three Choruses, Concert Bank, Jazz Bank, and various ensembles: New Music, Percussion, Studio, and Synthesizer. A MAJOR IN MUSIC FOR THE BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE The Bachelor of Arts in Music with Liberal Arts provides for careers in areas such as composition, teaching, and performance, and for graduate studies in these areas as well as musicology, theory, library, law, criticism, or commerical music.
