Replace current course description for ECON 261 on page 97 with the following: "An examination of the process of economic change in the United States. Course emphasis is on the causes and consequences of economic growth. Topics include the economic causes of the Revolution, the economics of slavery, the changing role of government, and the depression of the 1930's. Prerequisite: ECON 200 or 201 or permission of the instructor. Satisfies 3 hours of Social Science General Education Requirements." _______ 2. Replace current course description for ECON 330 on page 98 with the following: "Application of economic principles to the analysis of labor markets. Includes analysis of labor supply, labor demand, human capital, public policy, and labor market operation. Other topics may include economics of discrimination, impact of unions, comparative labor movements, human resource policy, and pensions and social security. Prerequisite: ECON 200 or 201, or permission of instructor." ___ 3. Add to current course description of ECON 305 on page 98 the following: "Prerequisite: ECON 210 or permission of instructor." ______ 4. Delete: Programs A and C on pages 95 and 96. ___ Add to page 95 the following: "Program A - Economics The objectives of this program are: 1. To introduce the student to both General Economic Theory and applications of theory to social problems. 2. To enable the student to create a program of study consistent with his/her career objectives including graduate study, law, MBA programs, and/or specific employment objectives. I. Required courses in the major -34 hours, including 200, 201, 300, 301, 365, 450, 490, plus 12 hours in Economics, at least 6 of which must be at the 300 or 400 level. Page 2 II.
