Senate Document 43 4/24/86 Executive Committee Document #4 1985 - 1986 The Executive Committee recommends that the Faculty Senate appoint with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor a faculty member as Editor of the Faculty Handbook. This person would be responsible or maintaining the Handbook through annual revisions. This person would report to the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs and the Chairman of the Faculty Senate. The appointment should be for a two year term. The Editor should be eligible for reappointment. Rationale: This year on an ad hoc basis Dr. Browning served as Editor of the Faculty Handbook. It has become clear that this is a continuing responsibility and that the Handbook should be kept up to date on a regualr basis. The most efficient way of doing this is to assign someone the task. Since the Handbook is of general interest and concern to the entire faculty, it is appropriate that the Editor should be selected by the Faculty Senate.
