PROPOSAL RE COURSE PREFIXES FOR HONORS COURSES

Proposal -  All Honors courses will retain the appropriate depart-
            mental designation, followed by the special designation
            of "Honors", preceding the course title, e.g. LANG 112
            HONORS:  FRESHMAN WRITING II.  In the printed schedule,
            these courses would appear in the appropriate depart-
            mental listing.

            The Interdisciplinary Seminar (HON 373) and the Senior
            Honors Project and Colloquium (HON 494) will continue
            to be identified by the prefix "Honors".

Rationale - This is similar to the changes made last year for the
            Developmental Studies courses.  It is intended to
            solidify the connections between the honors program and
            the departments and to enhance the offerings of the
            departments.  It also induces the support and involvement 
            of the various department chairmen in the Honors 
            Program.
