Catalog page 173: For Research Methods II (Psy 304), add to the list of prerequisites: "Students enrolled at the university for the first time during or after the Fall of 1986 must complete the General Education Math requirement prior to enrolling in this course." RATIONALE: As an advanced research methods course, the content includes a considerable amount of statistical material. The student would be better prepared for it after completing the General Education math requirement. II. Catalog page 173: Change Psy 309 to Psy 409 RATIONALE: The course in question, "Advanced Social Psychology" has been taught as an upper-level course requiring some acquaintance with research methods and some hands-on experience in social psychological data-collection. However, truly useful experience in the course requires greater methodological sophistication as well as a higher level of work expected in the course. Accordingly, the course number should reflect its upper-level status. III. Add "Psy 304" to the list of prerequisites of the above course. RATIONALE: The department lists Psy 304 as a prerequisite for all 400-level psychology courses.
