1981-1982 Senate Document #58 APC Document #52 Mathematics Minor Add to the program description on p. 114 of the current catalog: Minor in Mathematics: A minor in Mathematics may be earned by completing 21 semester hours of mathematics or statistics which must include Math 191, 192, 291, and at least 9 semester hours at the 300-400 level. At least 6 of the 300-400 level credit hours must be taken at UNCA. Effective Date: August 1982. Rationale: Many students in related fields (e.g. Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Atmospheric Science, etc.) will be required to take sufficient credits in mathematics to earn an academic minor. This proposal is consistent with the policy recently approved by the Faculty Senate concerning academic minors.
