1981-1982 Senate Document #57 APC Document #51 Atmospheric Sciences Minor Add to the program description in catalog: Minor in Atmospheric Sciences: Students wishing to complete an academic minor in atmospheric sciences may do so by completing 20 hours in Atmospheric Sciences, six or more of which must be at the 100 level and six of which must be at the 300 level or higher. Rationale: Students in varioius fields may wish to minor in Atmospheric Sciences. Physics majors may wish to apply their studies to the atmosphere. Biology majors may wish to investigate interactions of living organisms and their atmospheric environments. Mathematics majors may wish to investigate the mathematical aspects of this science. Computer sciences majors would have direct appliction of their studies and an attractive employment combination. Communications majors, not wishing formal certification as meteorologists, may select this minor for a future in broadcasting.
