1981-1982 Senate Document #26 APC Document #23 Environmental Studies Program Track Descriptions/New Courses ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES (ES) Director of Environmental Studies: Professor Remington The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies Program prepares students for graduate school or for employment in environmental planning, management or control positions. The program provides a common core of courses dealing with fundamental perspectives and specific environmental problems; it also divides into four tracks to provide greater depth in each of several directions: (1) Pollution Analysis and Control, (2) Ecology, (3) Energy Systems and (4) Management of Natural Resources. The tracks include some of the courses of the departments of Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Management which facilitates entry into the program from these departments and significantly reduces the time required to earn a double major with one of the sciences. Students should consult with the Director of Environmental Studies for requirements of each of these tracks.
