Required courses in the major: 36 hours; including 100, 210, 225, 335, 356, 420, 450, and 451, and 12 semester hours of career-oriented courses composed of the following: 200, 220, 340, and 480. II. Required courses outside the major: none. It is recommended that students in the Criminal Justice Program elect courses from outside the department that would complement their sociology course work. courses might be selected from the following: Psychology 100, 200, 225, and 308 as well as Management 140. III. Same. IV. Same. Major Revisions: 1. The program title has been changed to Criminal Justice from Criminal Justice and Administration. 2. Sociology 300 has been dropped from the list of required courses. This course is not included in such programs offered at other collegs and universities and is not necessary in a program such as this. See Section I. 3. Sociology 200 (Introduction to Criminology) has been added to the program's course offerings. (A course description is enclosed.) This course will provide the necessary introduction to the issues and problems found in the field of Criminal Justice and will prepare students for their work in Sociology 220, 340, and 480. Add: SOCIOLOGY 200 - INTRODUCTION TO CRIMINOLOGY (3) An examination of the system of criminal justice in the United States including the police, the criminal and juvenile court systems, and prisons and correctional facilities.
