The Assembly has asked that each institution, through the Faculty Senate, give its opinion on the question of longevity pay. Dr. Rainey referred this matter to the Faculty Welfare Committee to come up with recommendations from the faculty (possibly via a questionnaire) by the November Senate meeting. Dr. Rainey also asked the Institutional Development Committee to consider the directive by Chancellor Highsmith to make recommendations about departments with few graduates. Dr. Dorr stated that this topic might better be discussed in another forum. The Research Council concept of Dr. Highsmith was referred to the Institutional Development Committee for recommendations. Dr. Rainey asked that Dr. Denise Hoyer be included in the deliberations of the Committee. The meeting adjourned at 6:00 pm.
