                    Course Addition for the Department of Drama





        The Academic Policies Committee recommends to the Faculty Senate

        approval of the following course addition for the Department of

        Drama:  





        ADD to Catalog under section entitled Enrichment Courses for

        Qualified High School Students, page 184:  



        Drama

        105  Introduction to the Theatre (1-3)



             A practical course designed to familiarize the student

             with all aspects of theatre production.  Credit arranged.





        Rationale:  This course was in the Catalog through 1978-79.  It was

        removed when it appeared at that time that because of prior summer

        commitments there would be no drama faculty available to offer it.

        Now, with the addition of Mrs. Eleanor Logan to our faculty, we

        plan to revive this course, which will be offered in conjunction

        with our summer program entitled the Asheville Youth Theatre.  





        Effective Date:  Summer, 1981
