                          Senate Resolution #5



Be it resolved that every effort be made to fund ongoing administrative
responsibilities for those with faculty rank from the administration
budget.  Such funding is appropriate where faculty members as a 
condition of their appointment and ongoing employment are expected to
perform both teaching and administrative responsibilities (excluding
department chairmen), being granted release time from teaching obligations
on a routine basis.  (Such hybrid positions include the Director of the
Computer Center, and may include others as the university develops.)
