Art 145 - Basic Three-Dimensional Design and Sculpture Laboratory (1) -- Further exploration of projects and Art 140 assignments. RATIONALE: The majority of the changes are due to mistakes in the current catalog. These changes should have been made last year prior to the catalog printing, however, they were mistakenly overlooked. The additions are being made to allow for evening students to major in art. DELETE: Below "A Major in Art" the second paragraph, last sentence: "All seniors are required to take six hours (two three-hour terms) of Senior Seminar the term prior to their senior exhibition." Art 491 Exhibition I (Senior Seminar) - 3 Art 492 Exhibition II (Senior Seminar) - 3 RATIONALE: Last year it was the consensus of the Art Faculty to try senior exhibitions as a group seminar (Exhibitions). Before this year each senior worked directly with their exhibition advisor without group meetings. After one semester of seminar (Exhibitions) it is clear that the advisory/senior on a one to one basis is a much more effective method of critique, etc., and that group sessions serve only to cloud issues that are easily settled on a more personal basis. It is for this reason that we wish to delete Exhibition I & II. Seniors may arrange special topics with their professors to receive the same amount of credit as was given for Exhibitions I & II. (Passed by Faculty Senate January 31, 1978.)
